Norton Antivirus and Microsoft Office files

If during search and replace operation in Word or Excel files you see the message:

MS Word or Excel 2000 cannot be loaded because Norton Antivirus is active now

Don't be afraid you probably don't have a virus; it's a bug of Microsoft Office 2000. It only happens when you have Microsoft Office 2000 and Norton Antivirus 2000.

So, Microsoft gives two solutions:

1. Upgrade your Office 2000 into Office 2002

2. Remove Norton Plug-in

Note: simple closing of Norton Antivirus Shield will not help.
