Noobie Help!

Post by medaniels »

I need to figure out how to clean up a file

I need to remove everything before the domain names
in each line of one file only. some .com, some.net

Example

Feb 8 21:12 mortgage.com
Feb 8 21:13 prosper.com
Feb 8 21:13 solution.com
21:13 sunset.com
Feb 8 21:18 multi.net
23:32 surety.com
Feb 8 23:34 royal.com
Feb 8 23:37 approved.net
Feb 8 23:46 global.com
Feb 9 00:01 platinum.com
00:04 global.com
Feb 9 03:57 term.com
Feb 9 03:57 line.com
Feb 9 03:59 valor.com
Feb 9 04:32 unique.net

Should end up like this
mortgage.com
prosper.com
solution.com
sunset.com
multi.net
surety.com
royal.com
approved.net
global.com
platinum.com
global.com
term.com
line.com
valor.com
unique.net

Thanks for your help in advance! :D

Go to Batch replace tab. Check ON "Use regular expressions"
Put the first pair:
Search for:
^.*(\S+)\.com
Replace with:
$1.com

then put the second pair:
^.*(\S+)\.net
Replace with:
$1.net

Verify that in main menu - Action - Options - Batch Replace - you have
Modifier S in OFF position.

That's all. Sure it's also possible to make one expression for all domains.
