The problem seems to be random and we don't know what triggers it. But sometimes when we add a new order then add the menu item, it will be added to the order with the modifiers from the previous order. We have found. At first we were closing out of the register and going back in to get rid of this problem. Now our work around is to press the new order button again.
Also, we need the ability to delete & add modifiers from the new order screen without having to delete the entire menu item. Customers tend to change their mind after ordering and it has been difficult for us to create a receipt that shows the changes so that our kitchen staff will get the order correct. This is a really big problem for us.
