How do "Hits" and "Downloads" differ?

Post by boxcarwilli »

I have a "Basic" report. Parameter = href. In the report output I get "Hits" and "Downloads". What is the difference? Hits is always the larger number.

"Hits" - number of requests. For example if you have test.zip file on
your web site. People may request the file but did not download it.
"Downloads" - is a number of complete ("real") downloads.
