Sort by Code in Item Detail report

I am using intelligent numbers in the codes, and it relates to specific types of products. It would be very helpful if I had the option to get the Item Detail report in code order. I can do it in Excel but because of the formatting of columns, I must take time to delete columns and some rows so that I can sort the report. Thanks.
