Install Question

I am trying to install the software as an evaluation for purchase. A friend of mine has a restaurant and is looking for me to help them automate it. They have several touch screen devices from an auction and I am tying to figure out what works and what is trash.

Anyway, I downloaded the 30 day trial, installed with all of the defaults, and get the following error when I try to launch it on the old touchscreen (it is running Win95 which the software states it works with).

Error Starting Program
The ARTPOS.EXE file is linked to missing export SHELL32.DL:SHGETSpecialFolderPathA.

I e-mailed tech support last night but I did not receive a response.

I was able to load it on an XP workstation so I know the trial zip file is good.

I am looking for some help here:

1. I am worried about tech support for the product. If they don't respond before you buy, do the respond after you purchase?
2. What is the solution to the above error message?
3. What is the typical reponse time for tech support?

Thanks

Jeff

Ok, I am really getting nervous with the customer support for this software. I received the following e-mail regarding my install issue:

Go to have possibility to upgrade your POS machine it into XP or Vista?

If I was able to upgrade the POS machine to XP I would have. The website clearly states "
Works perfectly on Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista
." Which should I believe? Does the software work with Windows 95 & 98 "perfectly" or is it only supported on XP & Vista? :?:

The lack of technical support on this software is really starting to scare me.

The situation is the following:
Our software works on Windows 95. Several customer use Windows 95-based POS computers to operate their business. While we know that some them upgraded into XP.

But we do not longer test our software on Windows 95.
Microsoft officially dropped support for Windows 95 several years ago.

Our software in designed in such way that it does not require Windows XP or Vista. It means that there are no reasons that it cannot work on Windows 95.

But we will probably remove Windows 95 from our list of supported operating systems.
