Combination of AFR and win word crashes PC

Post by advscoop » Mon Jun 12, 2006 9:40 am

Can't seem to get through a complete run of batch processing without the program freezing (sometimes it works most time AFR freezes)

Looked at the CPU usage and its winword exe. that seems to max everything out. (Iam on Windows XP with plenty of ram 1gb)

I am mainly using it to batch find and replace in word docs (no more than 3 at a time).

If anybody has any tweaks I would be most interested as when it does work this program saves me a lot of time.

Hi advscoop,

I've had this problem over the last year, too. It comes and goes. I also have XP Pro and 1GB RAM and at times the system locks up when processing Office documents (for me, usually Excel files). All I can tell you is that if you leave your system alone for a while, it will come back to life once AFR has finished. Oh, that and make sure that no office apps are running when you are attempting to replace text in any of them! Finally, make sure that you have the latest build as a release was made in the fall that attempted to fix this problem.

AFR is an amazing app - everything else that I've seen/tried that has its functionality has bee many, many times more expensive, more complicated and no more effective.

Hopefully someone will drop in here with a solution to your problem as I'd be very interested too!
