finding by file names and renaming (replacing) file name

Post by jasimpson54 »

How would I use AFR to find by file name, backup the file, and rename/replace the filenames, (I know I could use some dos commands but would like to know if I can create a config to use with AFR).

To search an entire dir structure, find all the files named foobar.ini, and rename to foobar.ini.old

was hoping to just find the file, make a backup, and then delete the file but the backup files option only seems to be valid when I use replace.

Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated? (i obviously do not use the product very much).

ok so I can use the Options, Find tab, Find in File Names and in Options, Batch Replace, Replace in File Names option. This renames the file nicely but unless I am changing text within the file I cannot seem to get a backup to work, (advanced Options tab)
